THE WAY OF WORKING
Weaving of 30 meters long warps is a meditative process. The shawls are dyed first after weaving. Woad, which is cultivated on the backyard of the studio, is used for blue colors. Madder root and alder buckthorn give different kinds of red shades. Weld, nettle and overdyeings give green colors and cochenille pink and lila. Dyeing wool is an ancient process which takes time and attention.
